Kudos to CBS for Handling Ware Injury with Dignity

When Louisville basketball player Kevin Ware broke his leg on the court while battling Duke for a Final Four spot in the NCAA tournament, the site was reported to be extremely gruesome. I didn't watch it. I had already heard that the injury was much like the snapping of Joe Theismann's leg and that memory still haunts me decades later.

It's all over YouTube, I'm sure, and probably being played every else that can possibly get air time, but CBS did the right thing. They replayed it twice. They didn't take advantage of someone's terrible misfortune. They didn't "document history" the way that many would have.

It's a YouTube era now and their choice to use discretion instead of taking advantage of shock value was a gutsy call. Kudos to CBS.
