Matthew 10:16 (King James Version) Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. As Yeshua was preparing his disciples to go forth to the people to perform miracles and spread the word of God, he gave them a warning.
